Day 6 Hip-Hop
Hip-hop is a street dance style, originating from New York’s young Hispanic and African-American boys. You can consider Break-Dance as a sub-form of hip-hop.Hip-hop
includes various moves such as breaking, popping, locking and krumping, and
even house dance. In krumping, the dancers sometimes use physical
contact and weight sharing. Generally classifying HipHop is a dance style with
lot of attitude and colorful dance-wear accompanying free moves.
Please enjoy this famous
Madhuri-Prabhu deva number which I identify as a hip-hop/Latin western dance….though
since MD is doing is…the street dance attitude is less and it looks more like a
graceful dancing…but observe other guys…they are doing pure hiphop…
Lyrical hiphop is now a days gaining
more popularity. Lyrical dance means dancer tries to tell a story with the help
of gestures, wordings of the song and facial expression. So Lyrical hiphop
means story telling with free moves…confused?...just understand one thing…aur
kuchh ho na ho long hair and kind of “Ham
hai mahan” attitude is must…here is one from Bluff Master(2005)…though dance
kam hai…but attitude bahut hai boss…J
